So Much Stuff

Three Sundays! We have been counting down our time to leave by how many Sundays we have left. It is hard to believe we are down to three. We still have a lot to do, but we have gotten a lot accomplished as well. The two biggest items on our list is closing on the sale of our house and our big estate sale. We are scheduled to close on our house January 15th and have our sale on January 16th. We have rented a climate controlled storage space for the sentimental items we want to keep. We are praying that everything else sells so we can down size our storage space to save money.

It is funny how when we start going through everything we have and deciding what do we take, what do we store, what do we sale and what do we trash we find we have a lot of stuff that we simply do not need. If you have never taken time to go through everything you own I would encourage you to do it. I know, it sounds like a huge commitment of time and it probably is but I believe it is time well spent. It has really helped me to better think through if I really need something before buying it. I have things I only bought a couple of years ago and I am now looking at them thinking, “Why do I have this?” There is great wisdom in living simply. Maybe someday that will sink in well enough to stick for the long haul. If not I guess I will just go through all of my stuff every couple of years.

We continue to be in awe of the support we have received through words of encouragement, prayer and financial. We feel very blessed to be called to serve our Lord and very blessed to have so many wonderful brothers and sisters in Christ supporting us in that calling.

In Christ,
Chantz
