There are more slaves in the world today than at any other point in human history.  This is a sad but true fact.  There are more Christians in the world today than ever before in human history. This is an exciting and true fact.  I don’t know about you, but for me, as a Christian, thinking about these two facts together makes me start asking some tough questions about myself, and about us as the Church of Believers.  How can both of these things exist at the same time?  How should the fact that they do make us feel?  How should it make me feel?  Embarrassed?  Angry?  Sad?  Fed up?  Motivated?  Yes to them all.

Are we not called as Christians to love our neighbors?  Are we not called to show our love of Christ by helping the least of these?  Are we not asked by our King to serve the physical needs of His Father’s children, as well as their spiritual needs?   The time has come brothers and sisters when WE MUST STAND!  We must stand for those that cannot stand for themselves.  We must stand against those that treat God’s children like they have no value.  We must stand for others because our King stood for us.

The fact that there are more slaves today than every before should give us the awareness that we must do something.  The fact that there are more Christians today than ever before should give us the confidence that something can be done.  It does not have to be this way.  You and I have the power to change it.  If we will simply stand together we can make a difference.  Will you STAND?
